Kapagangan is the official school-community publication of the Mag-aba National High School in Pandan, Antique, Philippines. It is one of the longest running student publication in the municipality of Pandan, Antique since 1993.

Brief History

The Opening of the Publication of the Mag-aba National High School started in October 1993, with the efforts of Mr. Danilo S. Alejo. The School News Paper was first named "The Students' Voice" with Ariel Dionela as the first Editor-in-Chief and pamphlets were first used to publish articles.

In 2005, The Publication was renamed as "Ang Ramag" and Evelyen Dias was its Editor-in-Chief and due to the financial constraints, the publication was not published in four years. In 2008, the publication was renamed as "Banaag" and Keenan Tamboong was its Editor-in-Chief. During the same period, the publication began its participation in provincial and regional journalism conferences and competitions.

In 2009, the publication was on its heights when it collected various recognition and awards both in the Division Secondary Schools Press Conference and the Regional Cluster Journalism Workshop. In 2011, the publication staff ratified the renaming of the publication as "Bugsay". Louremei Fernandes was its Editor-in-Chief.

In 2012, the staff ratified again the motion of renaming the publication as "Kapagangan" (local word for low lying-coral reefs found at the beaches of Mag-aba, Pandan, Antique Province in the Philippines.

In 2011, John Carl Tamboong Alonsagay was named as its Editor-in-Chief. As the popularity of digital media arose, the top editors initiated to publish its first Facebook page in 2011 and its online blogs, in this period, the publication operated as a full-pledged student publication.

In 2014, Kenth Garzon, the Kapagangan Editor-in-Chief grabbed as a champion in English Sports Writing competition during the 2014 Regional Schools Press Conferences held at Iloilo City, Philippines. His achievement brought the publication to the national stage as he was qualified in the National Schools Press Conference held in Olongapo City, Philippines in April 2014.
