Juanita Grande

Juanita Grande is a Canadian-born singer/songwriter based out of Paris, France. She’s been performing and recording professionally since the mid ‘90’s.

Her versatile vocal range and timbre have allowed her to work with a number of artists and producers in genres ranging from Lounge/Chill and Electro-Rock, to Jazz, Soul, Blues and Chanson.

In 2003, after her voice and songs caught the ear of DJ Charles Schillings, the two met in Paris and eventually the single “Spin it Right” was released, as part of his album “Not Correct” (Pschent).

Juanita is half of the Pop/Chill duo Villablue, with her husband composer/producer Pascal De Falco. In 2008, their album “Easy Now” was released, with several tracks licensed on various compilations such as Café del Mar vol. 15 & 16.

Also of note are her vocals on Villablack’s cover of Mister Mister’s 80’s hit “Broken Wings”, included on the Hôtel Costes compilation (vol. 11).

She is featured as well on Chillout guru Steve Miller of Afterlife’s latest single, “Far Away”, from his album “Electrosensitive” (Defected Records).

The new album from Charles Schillings, featuring Juanita Grande, “Like a Radio”, is slated for release March 22, 2010 on Pschent records.

Juanita is currently involved in a number of other projects, including a new Villablue mini-album as well as a Villablack EP, both with Pascal De Falco.

Another duo she’s half of, along with French composer and pianist Bob Boisadan, “Dragon & Rosebud”, is now in the process of writing and recording their first album, “Loves ‘n Lullabies”, an intimate songwriters’ dialogue featuring voice and piano.
