Joseph Michael Levry
Dr. Joseph Michael Levry is a yogi, mystic and Kabbalah master also known by his spiritual name 'Gurunam'''. After studying under Yogi Bhajan, Dr. Levry merged Kundalini Yoga and Universal Kabbalah and started teaching Naam Naam yoga. In the last three decades, Levry has travelled in the United States, Europe and Asia preaching and teaching Naam Yoga. He travels for approximately nine months in a year and most of his activities are focused in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain. He has written several books including Lifting the Veil, Code of the Masters, Alchemy of Love Relationships and The Splendors of The Sun. He started Rootlight a not for profit to help people find love, peace and light.
In an interview, Levry mentioned that he has been trained in esoteric arts and sciences since the age of 12 and since then he became interested in different spiritual orders. Besides yoga, he is also a master of Kabbalah, a particular esoteric method, discipline and school of thought that is often associated with Judaism. Levry practiced, taught, studies and researched AbOUT yoga and Kabbalah for 30 years before creating and introducing his new style of yoga called the Naam yoga. Naam Yoga is a unique synthesis of the powerful teachings of Kabbalah and Yoga. People also claim that it is a BLEND of both the disciplines and schools of thought.
Levry has an online presence and he maintains blogs and websites where the basics of yoga and Kabbalah are explained. There are also several videos available on popular websites in which Levry explains the significance of yoga and its basics. On November 17, 2011 Levry conducted the world's largest yoga class, attended by more than 12,000 people, at Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo) in Mexico City.
