Jose-Abel Flores

José-Abel Flores-Villarejo (born in Zamora, Spain) is a Spanish Professor of micropaleontology and oceanography and a Vice Chancellor of Research and Transfer. He was awarded Castilla and León Prize for environmental protection in 2011.

Career

José-Abel Flores was a visiting professor at the Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, University of Bordeaux, IFREMER, Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, University of Sannio and the Korean Polar Research Institute. He is also a member of numerous organizations such as Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research and Governing Council of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography. In 2016 Flores met with Masashi Mizukami, a Japanese culture ambassador at the Hispano-Japanese Cultural Center of the University of Salamanca. He have published over a dozen articles in peer reviewed journals and had tutored as many doctoral thesises.
