Ben Bullock
Benjamin P. Bullock (born c.1989 in Perth, Western Australia) is a lawyer, adventure tourer and celebrity cook. He was a contestant in MasterChef Australia for 2017.
Early life
Bullock was raised in Glen Forrest, Western Australia where he attended Guildford Grammar School. He has a Greek-Australian background with his mother's family being from the small island of Kastellorizo and his father's side being sheep and wheat farmers from Moora. He learned to cook from his grandmothers. In 2011, Bullock graduated from Murdoch University having been shortlisted as one of six for a national Law Student of the Year Award for final year law students.
Law
After being admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Bullock worked for a number of firms before reaching Director of the firm Philipoff Legal at the age of 26. Having been shortlisted to one of six finalists for a national award in his last year of study, Bullock was again shortlisted in 2017 for Western Australia's junior lawyer of the year. He has subsequently started his own firm in which he practises in criminal law.
Charity
In 2017, Bullock co-founded a charity which aims to raise funds and awareness for depression and [...] prevention.
Bullock's motorbike ride is in conjunction with LifelineWA and the Black Dog Ride who provide services for depression and [...] prevention.
Adventure Touring
In September 2017, Bullockn embarked on a food journey that will see him cross 30 countries on a Hunter Motorcycle along the 30,000km ride from Perth, Western Australia to Perth, Scotland. Bullock,s route takes him through Southeast Asia, the Himalaya’s, Middle East and Europe, where he will be tasting, discovering and preparing all of the new and exciting regional dishes that he comes across. All proceeds of the From Perth to Perth ride are in support of mental health initiatives.
Cooking
Bullock was selected in the Top 24 to contest MasterChef Australia in 2017. Bullock captained the yellow team to win the second team challenge of the season. His style of cooking favours classic French Bistro. Bullock and Masterchef Australia 2017 runner-up Ben Ungermann cooked for charity in Indonesia in October 2017 from both rubbish tips to 5-star resorts.
