Jonny Raithby

Jonny Raithby born 1978 in Dewsbury is a rugby league player who has had spells with several clubs, he plays second row or prop.

Started playing with Dewsbury Moor ARLFC and gained District, County and International Honours with the club before a successful move to local rivals Shaw Cross Sharks where he gained further honours playing for Yorkshire against Lancashire and Cumbria and Australian touring sides Manly District and Australian Aboriginals.

He has had spells with Dewsbury Rams Academy and Batley Bulldogs Academy and Reserve Side.

Raithby has in the past 2 years been picked to represent Scotland in a 9's tournament in London, unfortunately injury prevented him turning out for this. He was also asked to attend training for Scotland 'A' side for the home nations tournament, several of these players were then picked to represent Scotland at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup in Australia.

He has guested for both the Cork Bulls (Ireland) and FIFE Lions (Scotland) in the International York 9's Rugby League Festival

He is now residing on the Gold Coast, Australia and will play for Hinterland Storm in the upcoming season. Honours include :

Heavy Woollen District player of the year in 2000,
