Jon Robert Cart
Jon Robert Cart (born January 31, 1964) is an American operatic tenor noted for his "thrilling squillo in the Mario del Monaco mold." He has performed leading roles throughout Europe and America with companies including the Baltimore Opera, Opera Roanoke, Harrisburg Opera and the Wolf Trap Opera. He has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Philips Collection. With the Baltimore Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony and the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, he has performed under conductors such as Bernstein, Leppard and Zinman. His recording, Serenata Mexicana, has been aired on several regional and national radio stations,and can be found on the Centaur Records Label.
As an academic, Dr. Cart has served as Chair of the Department Of Music and Theatre Arts at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and currently holds the position of Dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts at Rowan University in New Jersey. He has presented at regional, national and international conferences on the topic of transdisciplinary studies.
