Amy R. Martin
Amy R. Martin (born in Bellingham, Washington) is an American Soprano. A former student of Regine Crespin, Amy has performed leading opera roles in Germany, Austria, The Czech Republic and the USA.
Martin received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Arts, cum laude, from the USC Thornton School of Music, where she studied voice with Elizabeth Hynes. Postgraduate studies followed at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (Vienna Hochschule). For her Vienna debut, she embodied the leading role of Ännchen (Der Freischütz). Soon after her debut, she was invited to sing the leading role of Hannchen (Die Opernprobe) with the Barbara Hesse-Bachmaier Troop, which carried her through Germany, Austria and The Czech Republic. After a successful first tour, she reprised her role for a second tour. She has also performed the leading roles of Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and more, including several musical theater roles.
Amy R. Martin has worked with Seattle Opera, Indianapolis Opera, College Light Opera Company, The Bellingham Festival of Music, and several other theaters.
