Jomon Puthenpurackal

Jomon Puthenpurackal (born : 15th June 1968) is a well known social activist in Kerala, India. He began to be noticed in 1992, after the unnatural death of a nun in a convent in Kottayam. Jomon almost single handedly pursued this case against unimaginable odds, as eventually revealed, and this case has become one of the most sensational cases that captivated the mind of peoples in this part of the country. After the arrest of the culprits in this case in 2008, Jomon unequivocally said that "Real culprits have been arrested". This remark was considered as so trustworthy to the people because of their confidence in him that they assumed that the case is finally solved. In 2008 September, Jomon went under scanner, Kerala High Court ordered Crime Branch to probe. The DGP ordered a special Crime Branch team led by IG Harinath Misra to probe against Jomon. High Court Justice V Ram Kumar's order had directed the State police chief to constitute special investigation against the litigant and submit a report within six months AbOUT his sources of income, criminal charges pending against him; if any and whether he had been behind the Sister Abhaya [...] case for personal gains
