John de Gray (ice hockey)
John de Gray (born March 14, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Iowa Chops of the American Hockey League (AHL) and is a prospect for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Playing career
de Gray played major junior for four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Brampton Battalion, where he served as a team captain. He was drafted in the third round, 83rd overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft following a 10-point season with the Battalion. Following his fourth and final OHL season in 2007–08, de Gray was assigned to the Portland Pirates of the AHL, the Ducks' minor league affiliate, for the final six games of the regular season as well as the post-season. In 2008–09, de Gray was assigned to the Iowa Chops, another AHL affiliate of the Ducks.
