Jimmy Chitwood
Jimmy Chitwood (born circa 1933) was a character portrayed in the movie Hoosiers. Chitwood was the marquee player of the fictional Hickory Huskers. Chitwood was known was known for his dazzling ballhandling, INCredible shooting abilities, and impressive defensive abilities. However, Chitwood is best remembered for his buzzer-beating shot against South Bend Central High School in the finals of the 1951 Indiana state high school basketball tournament. Chitwood was the leading scorer of Coach Norman Dale's 6-man husker machine, which included such standout players such as Buddy Walker, Rade Butcher, and Everett Flatch.
