Jesaya Elago Kambonde
Brigadier General (retired) Jesaya Elago Kambonde (born 22 April 1955 in Oshikoto Region) is a Namibian former military commander. He was the chief of staff, responsible for finance in the Namibia DeFence Force (NDF) since 24 June 2006.
Education
General Kambonde holds an undergraduate degree in financial science from the University of Stellenbosch South Africa, and a Diploma in Military intelligence from the Bundesweh Military Academy in Berlin, Germany.
Army career
Kambonde joined SWAPO's military wing, the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) in 1975 and participated in Namibia's struggle for independence in various positions. He attended military training in Germany. At Namibia's independence in 1990 he held the rank of Captain. In 1998 to 1999 with a rank of a Captain Kambonde was part of the team that was sent to DRC Peace Keeping mission as part of a Southern African Development Community (SADC) contingent. He became Deputy Commander of the Kongola base with a rank of a senior officer: Colonel in 2000. In 2006 Kambonde was promoted to Chief of staff, Finance, a position he held until his retirement in 2011.
