IMocha
iMocha is a skills intelligence and skills assessment Software company headquartered in Pune, India, and incorporated in the United States. The company develops a software as a service platform that uses artificial intelligence to assess the job-related skills of candidates and employees.
History
iMocha was founded in 2015 by Amit Mishra and Sujit Karpe, both former IBM executives. The company was initially named Interview Mocha before it later adopted its current name, iMocha.
In August 2020, iMocha raised US$600,000 from angel investors, including Girish Mathrubootham and Anand Chandrasekaran.
In January 2022, the company raised US$14 million in its first institutional venture round, a Series A led by Eight Roads Ventures, with existing investors Upekkha and Better Capital participating. Aditya Systla of Eight Roads Ventures and Prasanna Krishnamoorthy of Upekkha joined the company's board of directors.
In May 2023, iMocha and EY jointly published a report on technology-skills transformation in the workplace. The report stated that 81% of the surveyed organisations reported a shortage of skilled technology workers.
In October 2024, SAP named iMocha among the first partners to integrate with its newly launched Talent Intelligence Hub within the SAP SuccessFactors platform, alongside Beamery, Degreed, Korn Ferry, and Lightcast.
Operations
iMocha's platform provided enterprise customers with a library of more than 10,000 job-related skills assessments. The assessments cover subjects including software programming, data science, machine learning, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
