IDM Computer Studies (Pvt)Ltd is establish in the year 1981,as the first private sector institution for Computer Education and Training in Sri lanka. Dr Bandu Ranasinghe is the chairman and founder of the IDM Group of Companies. It has grown over the years and currently has 54 branches spread throughout the country. Through affiliations with international institutions, universities and professional bodies, IDM has been able to design and deliver ICT, Business Management and Engineering courses that comply with International standards at affordable fees to the students.
IDM Nations College Trust
The trust is a non profit making service organization to manage the IDM Nations College. The IDM Nations College was set up to deliver national school curriculum and the British curriculum in English medium while maintaining the national culture and the social as well as religious values.
IDM Pre-University College
IDM Pre-University College specializes in foundation programs to prepare O/L and A/L students to proceed for higher studies. It offers courses from beginners Diplomas, local and international and now runs 54 branches islandwide.
IDM Affilated University College
IDM is affiliated to a number of foreign universities, which made it possible to elevate its position to the level of "Affiliated University College" with many faculties,which is managed by a trust. IDM Affiliated University College has affiliations with number of foreign universities in UK, Australia and Canada and offer Undergraduates and Postgraduates courses.
One can join either with O/L or A/L qualifications, go through the foundation programs like NCC-UK International Diploma, NCC International Advanced Diploma and finally towards the B.Sc degree program offered by Greenwich University. Another option is to join the Edexcel HND programs and follow the final year B.Sc Degree, Lectures are conducted by the Wolverhampton University Lecturers from UK at IDM. IDM offers M.Sc. programs delivered by the flying faculty of University of Wolverhampton (UOW-UK).
IDM Affiliated University College has diversified its activities and runs a number of faculties in a number of fields. To name a few, Business Management, ICT, Teacher Education, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. To be in the with other Universities. IDM has a division to improve the soft skills of student abilities to enjoy aesthetic values, music, dancing and communication skills, in order to prepare them to enter the industry with confidence. Through the Alumni Association our undergraduates are given opportunities to have industry placements. Thus industry experience and soft skills developed during their studies certainly elevate their possibilities of getting employed.

IDM Corporate Training & Skills Development offer courses to develop technical skills for individuals and corporate clients. It offers Trade Certification courses offered by internationally recognized Hardware and Software vendors.
IDM being the pioneer in ICT Education and Training in Sri Lanka has continuously been interacting with the industry in order to study AbOUT the specific areas that are demanded by the industry from time to time. In order to meet this demand IDM took the initiative in introducing many courses in affiliation with British, Australian and American Universities and Institutions. Through them we currently offer 171 courses including many Trade Certifications offered by internationally recognized vendors.
