HyperVerge
HyperVerge is an Indian tech company that provides Identity verification, business verification, video KYC, face authentication, forgery detection, AML screening, fraud detection and deepfake detection services. It is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
History
HyperVerge was founded in 2013 by five IIT Madras alumni: Kedar Kulkarni, Vignesh Krishnakumar, Kishore Natarajan, Saivenkatesh Ashokkumar, and Praveen Kumar. The company was incubated at IIT Madras' Incubation Cell with a grant of ₹5 lakh. The founders were part of a student computer-vision/ML R&D group and represented India in international robotics competitions. Kulkarni founded the Computer Vision Group at IIT Madras' Centre for Innovation around 2009.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) partnered with HyperVerge to implement video KYC services for State Bank of India (SBI).
In August 2021, HyperVerge partnered with UP42 (Airbus) for AI satellite-imagery change detection and second Airbus collaboration with Airbus BizLab India.
Research & development
In 2012, the company started taking up consulting assignments with Indian Railways, ITC, MRF and many other companies to develop pilots projects. In 2013, the company decided to take up entrepreneurship and started HyperVerge Technologies.
In June 2021, HyperVerge's Liveness product was tested by iBeta Quality Assurance, a NVLAP-accredited laboratory, and confirmed to conform to ISO/IEC 30107-3 at Level 1 for presentation attack detection.
In February 2024, the company announced that its passive liveness technology had passed Level 2 presentation attack detection testing against ISO/IEC 30107-3.
Philanthropy
In 2020, HyperVerge founded HyperVerge Academy. The academy provides structured learning opportunities for students, recent graduates, and professionals through internships, mentorship programs, technical workshops, and hands-on projects that reflect real-world industry applications.
