Hot Dance 2000

Hot Dance 2000 is a Famicom unlicensed game from Hong Kong. The concept of the main game is based on the popular Dance Dance Revolution video game. The music portrayed in the video game is considered to be top 40 music from the year 2000. The object is to use the arrow keys in sync with the pop music in order to score points. Missing too many steps means game over. There are two different forms of "dancing" in this game: single and mix. Non-dancers can relax with Pac-Man and pinball. Both of these are primitive forms of video games that do not require the massive level of button mashing required in a single game of Hot Dance 2000.

Hot Dance 2000 was sold in Canada and the U.S. during the 2006 Christmas season as a Dance Dance Revolution-type dancepad that could be used in homes without needing a console system to operate. These devices were sold in As Seen on TV stores usually located in the larger cities of developed countries. This game was enjoyed mostly by young adults and teenagers, who see dancing as a fun way to exercise and maintain their physical health and fitness.

Artists include Celine Dion, Elvis Presley, and Chinese artists. Most songs sound like the original album version while others have been given a Chinese twist to the beat. Since the game was only released in the Hong Kong area, it is available mostly through the Internet. The game is completely in English and does not carry a word of Chinese, which means the game was intended for mostly Anglophone residents of Hong Kong. FwNES and Nestopia are the only emulators that can this video game function properly. Like Dance Dance Revolution, this game requires speed, timing, and having a good sense of rythmn.
