Hilton London Syon Park

Former Waldorf Astoria Syon Park, HILTON London Syon Park is built on the Duke of Northumberland’s estate, now his family's London residence, and it is in the grounds of Syon Park. The large Syon Park House is still there, and offers an opportunity to tour the last surviving ducal estate in Greater London. The Duke, keen to generate income, has heavily commercialised his grounds and they now include over forty acres of gardens as well as the hotel - Kew Gardens.

The Great Conservatory in the gardens was designed by Charles Fowler in 1820's and completed in 1827. It was the first to be built from metal and glass on such a scale. The conservatory lies on a tidal meadow, home to more than 200 species of trees, which is flooded twice a day by the Thames.
