Hikaru Hoshino

is a Japanese former AV Idol. Japanese adult video (AV) columnist Kemuta Ōtsubo characterized her as one of the stars of the 1986-1990 period in the Japanese AV scene.

Life and career

Hoshino was born on December 8, 1971. She made her debut in the AV industry at age eighteen in June 1990 with the video Virgin Palace Vol.2 for the h.m.p. Tiffany label. The h.m.p. studio was one of the pioneers in adult videos and Hoshino is credited with being part of their shift from their early S&M focus to one concentrating on beautiful girls () and also for the popularity of their Tiffany label. Hoshino appeared in seven more videos for h.m.p. in 1990 and early 1991.

In 2012 the major Japanese adult video distributor DMM held a poll of its customers to choose the 100 all-time best AV actresses to celebrate the 30th anniversary of adult videos in Japan. Although she had left the AV business more than twenty years before, Hoshino was voted into thirteenth place in the balloting.
