Heather Angelika Dooley

Heather Angelika Dooley (December 14, 1974 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American poet.

Personal history

The only child of Nancy Lynn Donna Huffman (a primary educator) and Jackie Lee Huffman (a construction worker), she grew up in south Florida in Boca Raton. She married Jason Patrick Dooley in 2001 and settled in Atlanta, Georgia after living in Gainesville, Florida for six years, as well as Dayton, Ohio her first year of marriage. She gave birth to a daughter, Wilhelmina Indigo Dooley, on November 1, 2003. On June 2, 2007, Dooley separated from her husband and moved to Durham, North Carolina with her daughter. Heather Angelika Dooley was a company dancer for over half her current life. She currently showcases art exhibits and continues to write books. She is an administrative assistant to a local artist/owner of Red Beret Designs, a student at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College studying creative writing, an author, a single mother, and owns two home improvement companies, Heather Indigo Home Improvement and KIDeidoscope Designs.

Publications

Her first book of poetry, He Said He Wanted to Die With Me Now I Don't Even Have His Phone Number (2004 ISBN 0974076309 Be-Mused Publications), quickly went out of print when the publishing company went out of business. Her second book, Don't Rub Salt in the Heartbreak (2006 ISBN 978-0-9789386-5-9 Lucy Rose Publishing, LLC), is a bookof poetry AbOUT letting go of "constants" and the growing pains of womanhood. Her third release, Time Heals All Swoons (2010 Lucy Rose Publishing, LLC), is a book of poetry about one woman's crossing over to a new life, in trade for all her creature comforts.
