HandWallet Expense Manager
The HandWallet Expense Manager, or HandWallet, is a freemium mobile app that allows users to track and manage their income and expenses. In its existence, it has been downloaded over 2.12 million times.
History
HandWallet was originally developed by MediaVision for the PalmPilot PDA, and released in 2002 . It was then rewritten for Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Windows. In 2012, it was rewritten again for Android. Since, there has been one beta release and 6 new version releases:
- First beta release - May 24, 2012
- Version 1 - June 5, 2012
- Version 2.0 - May 2, 2013 (with automatic bank sync and voice recognition)
- Version 3.0 - Apr. 1, 2014
- Version 4.0 - Dec. 11, 2016 (with ability to import and export data)
- Version 5 - May 1, 2016 (New UI)
- Version 6 - Sep. 3, 2017 (workgroups added)
Features
HandWallet allows users to create an account and enter or import data, which is then analyzed and shown in charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate and give advice AbOUT spending habits. HandWallet is available in over 50 languages, and includes voice recognition, allowing users to enter data. It also gives users the option to import and export data to and from their bank in order to sync online finances. HandWallet supports multiple types of currency, and also gives users the option to SMS bank. The app received 95% positive reviews and 4.3 out of 5 stars on Google Play from almost 21,000 reviews.
