Hail PS, Hail
"Hail PS Hail" is the official alma mater hymn of Philippine School Sultanate of Oman.
Composition
Philippine School Sultanate of Oman opened its secondary level (high school) in 1992-1993. The first batch of High School teachers, Dr. Dionisio Viloria, Mrs. Erlinda M. Valientes, Ms. Anette Imperial and Mr. Enrique B. Pontillas, arrived for that year along with an elementary school teacher. Dr. Dionisio Viloria served as principal for that school year. 1
Towards the end of the same school year, the graduating grade six pupils composed their graduation song under the tutelage of Miss Fe Edithaldine T. Vendiola. The song was AbOUT the love for their beloved alma mater in Oman, which they call as a "home away from home". The graduates of that batch performed the song on the school's 3rd Graduation ceremony in March 1993.
Becoming the school's alma mater song
By 1994, the school officially announced that the said graduation song for 1992-1993 would become the school's alma mater song. It was sung on the daily flag ceremonies during school days.
Today, the song is being sung during flag ceremonies after the students recite the patriotic pledge (only on the first days of the week), graduation ceremonies (applies now to Grade 12 graduates), moving-up ceremonies, and honors' assemblies.
Music video
The official instrumental video was made by a YouTube video named MultiJames1995. It shows the performer (offscreen) playing the song's chords in a church.
