Golden State Trailers was established in October 2017 by Mike Shiyanenko in Rancho Cordova, California. The company was initially known as Cali Trailers and later adopted the name Golden State Trailers.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company grew significantly as the demand for mobile food units increased. In 2021, Golden State Trailers relocated to Olivehurst. Local business development initiatives in Yuba County supported the move.
