Controversy
On April 2025, During the release of L2: Empuraan Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized ₹1.5 crores cash from Gopalan’s offices and his residence at Chennai, Kochi and also in Kozhikode. According to ED, he violated the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). ED claimed that "Sree Gokulam Chits and Finance" collected chit funds from people from outside India without proper authorisations and violating regulations from Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
