Georgia Hobbs
Georgia Hobbs was a fictional character in the long-running ITV cop drama The Bill. She was played by Kazia Pelka from 2006 to 2007.
Character profile
Georgia transferred to the Metropolitan police as Superintendent and requested a tough, inner-London operational posting. She was promoted to Chief Superintendent in 2000, attended her senior command course in 2001, before moving up to Commander in 2002 and Deputy Assistant Commissioner in 2004. She was also Chair of the MPS Association of Senior Women Officers, and an ACTIVE mentor.
Fiercely independent Georgia did not want to buy into the institution of marriage, she was already institutionalised from the job. Nonetheless she likes to become involved in uncomplicated affairs.
Corruption
Georgia announces that Scotland Yard are to close one of Canley's three police stations, at the same time that Canley Borough Council decide that they are going to redevelop the Aldborne Estate. On the day that the evictions start Sgt. June Ackland and Inspector Gina Gold discover that the man behind the redevelopment is bribing council officials to accept the proposal and blackmailing Georgia with proof of her corruption unless she helps him be released. Georgia turns to her lover Superintendent John Heaton for help, but unbeknownst to her he is recording the conversation, as she admits to ensuring that Sun Hill Police Station will be closed down, and promising him the land. John hands the tape over to the Directorate of Professional Standards who later arrest her.
