Collegiate Career

After graduating from Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, IL, where he hit .405 his senior season, Guest played one season at Purdue University in 2001, before transferring to Saint Joseph's College in Indiana for the 2002-2004 seasons. He is now among all-time school leaders in both Games Started (7th) and Most Assists (#2) at St. Joseph's College.

Playing Career

Dennis "Garrett" Guest was drafted in the 49th Round by the Chicago White Sox out of Saint Joseph's College in Indiana. He went on to play three Minor-League seasons, rising as high as Winston-Salem in the Carolina League. Known as an athletic player, a fierce competitor, and an overachiever on the field because of his diminutive stature, Guest was a fan-favorite but was overmatched professionally on the offensive end. Guest retired after being released prior to Spring Training in 2007 and finished with a .183 career batting average. He was more impressive in the field, playing mostly 2nd base, turning a league high 49 double plays in 2005 at Great Falls.
