Steve St. Claire
Steven St. Claire is a former professional baseball player who primarily played as a pitcher and an outfielder. He is the son of Ebba St. Claire and the brother of Randy St. Claire.
St. Claire, born in Glens Falls, New York, was a standout baseball player for Whitehall Central High School in Whitehall, New York. He graduated in 1984, after playing primarily as a pitcher and catcher, the positions of his father and brother, both Major League Baseball players.
After a stellar high school career, St. Claire was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 16th round (405th overall) of the 1984 amateur entry draft. After spending three disappointing years in the Expos system playing primarily as an outfielder, but also finding playing time at catcher, first base, and third base, St. Claire decided to switch positions and become a pitcher. In 1987, he made 11 starts as a pitcher. Although he pitched well, he was released after the season and never played professional baseball again.
In 1997, St. Claire decided to play competitively again after 10 years, and joined a semi-professional slow-pitch softball league in Rutland, Vermont alongside his brother, Randy. In 2007, he played again in a slow-pitch sodtball league in Granville, New York.
He currently resides in Lake George, New York.
