Galleria Supermarket

Galleria Supermarket is an Asian supermarket chain operating in the Greater Toronto Area specializing in Korean and Asian food. The upscale retailer challenges well established Korean supermarket P.A.T. and H-Mart. It is based in Woodbridge, Ontario with head office at 8500 Keele Street.

History

Founded around 2004 in the Thornhill area of Markham, Ontario at 7171 Yonge Street to serve what was a growing Korean area along Yonge Street from south of Finch Avenue to Steeles Avenue. The store is similar to T & T Supermarket, a Chinese themed supermarket found in Vancouver and now located in Ontario. The single store location was relocated after their property was sold for re-development as the World On Yonge residential condo project.

Re-location and expansion

The original store re-located to 7040 Yonge at Steeles Avenue in the former Chapters bookstore on the Vaughan side of Thornhill, but later began to expand beyond a single location
