Round 5 is a collectible figure and toy manufacturer based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. and an office based in Hong Kong. The company’s products are primarily based on licensed intellectual property.

History

In 2007, brothers Damon and Barron Lau founded Round 5, a reference to the championship round of a mixed martial arts fight. Round 5’s debut product line consisted of licensed figures based on popular fighters and personalities in the sport of mixed martial arts and sold under the name World of MMA Champions. The first series of figures included: Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, and Quinton Jackson. Round 5 created three subsequent series under the World of MMA Champions brand before re-launching the figures as the Ultimate Collector Series, a licensed product of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in December 2009. In 2011 Round 5 launched a line of licensed Bruce Lee collectible figures and toys.

The Products

Round 5’s typical Ultimate Collector figure stands six-inches tall and features a realistic though physically exaggerated facial features and appendages. In some cases, Round 5 creates limited edition variants of figures of their baseline figures that feature alternate clothing, poses and accessories such as championship belts. Round 5 launched two variant lines of UFC-branded figures, the Versus line and the UFC Live in 2010 and the UFC Titans line in 2011. Round 5 positions its products as collectibles.
