Galeazzo von Mörl

Galeazzo von Mörl (born in 1922, Innsbruck, Austria) is an Italian painter.

Biography

Born into an old family of the 11th century from the Trentino-Alto Adige region in Italy, Galeazzo von Mörl lived many years in Italy (Burano, Venice, Rome, Genoa, Livorno, Positano, Milan, Como, Portofino) and currently resides in the Principality of Monaco.

Autodidact, Galeazzo von Mörl didn't follow the typical career path of an artist!

After studying naval engineering, he became an officer of the Italian Navy. After the Second World War, he began working in textiles as a stylist designer of printed for French and Italian Haute couture. In parallel to his work in textiles, he begins to paint as an autodidact in the 1960s using every technique. Since 1975, he is closely involved in the artistic life of Monaco. Since 1980, he is exclusively devoted to perfecting his art.

According to his philosophy, mineral, plant, animal and human kingdoms, and the divine spirit are closely dependent and in continual metamorphosis to finally reach the beauty. Galeazzo von Mörl always tries to express his inner quest and his work should be an honest testimony about it.
