G. V. Steele
Giselle V Steele, also known as GV Steele, is a well known children's book author and wildlife photojournalist. Her work has appeared in dozens of magazines across the U.S., such as E The Environmental Magazine, Wild Outdoor World, Falcon For Young Conservationists Magazine, Sea Frontiers, and Nature's Friend, among many others.
History
Giselle is the second in line in a family of four girls. She attended both Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California and Hawthorne High School, for summer classes, in Hawthorne, California. Hawthorne high school was also home to The Beach Boys in the 1960's. Giselle began writing at the age of 12, encouraged by a teacher who noticed her talent as a writer at Ramona Elementary School, in Hawthorne, California.
She married her husband Bruno, on the 29th of April in 1978. For some years they spent their time traveling and discovering new places. At one point, Bruno's interest in Europe (stemming from business), brought the couple to entertain the thought of moving to the country of Switzerland. However, they realized they would miss the beaches of Southern California too much and they settled down in the State.
On the 9th of November in 1983, the two welcomed a son, Damian Maurice. When Damian was 8 years old, he inspired one of her children's stories, entitled, Nicholas and The Magical Wind,. The story, which is based on a little boy who has trouble falling asleep at night, was meant to aid her son in his own experience with the problem.
Giselle Steele is also the author of a number of other children's stories and articles, among them; A Snowdrop's Journey, Mutiny In The Body, The Unbearlike Bear and The Off-Limits Watermelon Patch.
Her newest release is entitled, The Wayfarer's Stone, Tales Of Twilight Dreams, which highlights her poetry, and showcases her photography. A follow up book to her new release is currently underway. As of yet, it is untitled with a tentative release date of 2008.
