G. S. Unnikrishnan Nair

G. S. Unni Krishnan Nair (b. 1964 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala) is presently working as Assistant Director of Agriculture in Department Of Agriculture, Kerala.He is a graduate in Agriculture with PGJMC (Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication) and has Undergone training in video production and farm journalism at EEI, Hyderabad.

G .S. Unni Krishnan is a Popular science writer, Science Fiction Writer, Children’s Writer, Farm Journalist and novelist in malayalam. He contributes articles and features regularly in Malayalam and English dailies and magazines since 1986. G .S.Unni Krishnan has published over 2000 popular science articles, farm features, science stories, etc. and 35 books also. He has also translated books published by Discovery channel into Malayalam. He has authored the first horror science fiction in malayalam-“Chimera”. He has scripted and directed over 200 T.V.Documentaries. He has edited many books, magazines and newsletters including”Kannimannu Magazine,Harithadalam newsletter “Annam Amrutham” a comprehensive book on Paddy in Kerala and a book on 100 years of Agricultural Department which were published by Farm Information bureau, Kerala.

G .S.Unni Krishnan has won; National Science Communication Award of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India during 2008 for Science Popularization among Children,Award in the National Level Book Writing Competition organized by Minis Kerala try of Human Resource Development, Govt.of India during 2002,Won third prize in the National Chemistry Photography Competition organized by Vigyan Prasar, Govt.of India during 2010, State level Science Literature Award of the State Council for Science Technology and environment during 2005 in Children’s Literature category and State Farm journalist Award(KarshakaBharathi Award )during 2005. Bhima Balasahithya Award 2009 and State Children’s Literature award 2009 were also awarded to him.
