Audit by the Department of Labor
In June 2008, the U.S. Department of Labor announced it would audit all permanent labor certifications filed by Fragomen, Del Rey alleging that the firm had acted improperly in its efforts to assist clients in sponsoring foreign workers. Lou Dobbs, an anchor with CNN, criticized Fragomen as assisting in exporting jobs abroad. By September, however, the Department of Labor dropped its audit, saying its own rulings were confusing. Fragomen, though its attorneys at Covington & Burling admitted no wrongdoing.
