FOX O&O News Theme

The FOX O&O News Theme is a television news music package composed by OSI Music. The package consists of 4 CDs containing 120 cuts centered around at least 5 primary themes. However, there may have been updates (or additions) extending this package to 10 CDs in total size.

The package was originally composed in 2004 for Fox-owned WTVT in Tampa for its NewsEdge at 11:00 newscast, the first Fox Television Stations Group station in the Eastern Time Zone with an 11:00pm newscast and an expirement for a possible rollout of an additional late evening newscast on all Fox owned-and-operated stations which dropped an 11:00pm (10:00pm in the Central and Mountain Time Zones) newscast following the acquisition of The New World station group in favor of a 10:00pm (9:00pm, Central and Mountain) newscast.

The news package was originally titled the WTVT NewsEdge Theme, for the newscast and was composed to sound similar to that of Fox News Channel's news music (which OSI also composed). When Fox Television Stations Group decided to create a uniform image for all of its stations (with similar logos, graphics and news music), OSI renamed the news package to the FOX O&O News Theme, as the packages were intended for use by FOX owned-and-operated stations, although it can be commissioned by any Fox affiliate.

As of October 23rd, 2007, all of Fox's O&Os except for KSTU in Salt Lake City, KTBC in Austin and KDVR in Denver use the music.
