Ernesto Rascon
Ernesto Rascon has been the only police officer to die in the line of duty in the Anthony Police Department to date. Ernesto Rascon was murdered.

On Sunday, June 27, 1976 Officer Rascon was shot and killed with his own service revolver after responding to a residential burglary call. When he arrived at the scene he began to struggle with the suspect, who was able to gain control of Officer Rascon's weapon and fataly shoot him.
The suspect was apprehended and charged with Officer Rascon's [...]. The suspect was convicted and sentenced to only 5 years.
Officer Rascon had previously served with the Anthony Police Department. He was 27 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his parents.
Memorials
- A baseball field was named the Ernie Rascon Memorial Baseball Park by the Town of Anthony, Texas in honor of the fallen officer. It is located on Richard White street.
- Officer Rascon's name has been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. The name is location is Panel 40, W -13.
- Officer Rascon's name has also been added to the Texas Peace Officers Memorial in Austin, Texas.
- A plaque dedicated to Officer Rascon with his picture and old badge hangs in the Anthony Police Department. In 2006 the police chief visited the national memorial while in DC to attend a training conference. The chief made an imprint of the name onto a piece of paper and the imprint was added to the plaque.
