Eric Strachan
Eric Charles Penzel Strachan (b. 1981 June 24,New Orleans, Louisiana) is currently running for New Orleans City Council District B.
Early Life and Education
Eric Strachan is the fourth son of Camille J. Strachan and the late Duncan Strachan. He is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School (New Orleans, Louisiana) and of Louisiana State University, where he majored in History, with minors in Political Science and English.
City Hall Experience
Jacquelyn Brechtel Clarkson hired Eric in 2007 after his help with her successful campaign for the At-Large seat. He began as her Director of Constituent Affairs, and was promoted to Legislative Aide in 2008. With Jackie, Eric helped craft contributions to both the Master Plan, and www.ericfordistrictb.com.
Soon after Jackie's successful re-election campaign in 2010, he left politics for a job in the financial sector. He soon returned, however, when District B Councilperson Stacy Head asked Eric to join her office as Chief of Staff. Eric served in this capacity until Stacy's own successful At-Large campaign.
Eric is a registered Democrat and has served on the boards of the Coliseum Square Association and the Vieux Carre Property Owners, Residents and Associates â VCPORA, and numerous organizations city-wide.
