Emilia Plugaru
Emilia Plugaru, (born June 17, 1951, Cetireni, Ungheni, Moldova) is a Romanian writer who composes children's literature.
Biography
Plugaru Emilia was born on June 17, 1951 in the village Cetireni, near the «border» town Ungheni, Moldova, in the family of Ion and Maria Ciobanu. From early childhood she began to paint and write and expressed herself especially at Cetireni's village school, which graduated in 1968. Then she has a dilemma: to choose between her dream to write or her dream to paint. Choose the latter, following the Faculty of Architecture at Polytechnic Institute, then worked as an architect. Married, raised four children, leaving her career as an architect and embracing the one as a mother. Meanwhile, however, devotes much time for writing so that in 1996 the two great dreams of childhood can be found in her literary start - "I'm in the first grade" poems and colouring drawings book. Since then she writes many award-winning children's literary creations highly appreciated by the Romanian cultural community. At the same time - she starts to master the art of pottery so that now also expresses herself at pottery and objects of handicraft art making.

The poems and colouring drawings book "I'm in the first grade" were appreciated by the literary critic Mihai Cimpoi as follows - "Mrs Emilia Plugaru's inspired poems are addressed to those who are small, whom she wants to get them understand via images, sounds and colors what the beautiful, the good and the world around looks like. Add one or two colors along what she offers and you'll see that this world is beautiful and good, but must be even more beautiful, even better."
