Ellisys products are now used by thousands of engineers all around the world to improve the quality of their products and enhance the performances.

Products

The company's products include:

  • the Ellisys USB Tracker 110, a USB 1.1 full-speed protocol analyzer,
  • the Ellisys USB Explorer 200, a USB 2.0 high-speed protocol analyzer,
  • the Ellisys USB Explorer 260, a multifunction USB protocol test system designed for USB 3.0,
  • the Ellisys Wireless USB Explorer 300, a WiMedia ultra-wideband protocol analyzer for Certified Wireless USB from the USB-IF,
  • the Ellisys UWB Generator 320, a byte-level frame generator for WiMedia ultra-wideband based protocols like Certified Wireless USB.

Background

USB was designed from the beginning to be as simple to use as possible. But this simplicity comes at a price: complexity is transferred from the peripheral user to the developer. Beginners in USB development will find books from Jan Axelson and John Hyde useful to start their difficult task of creating a robust USB device, respectively USB Complete and USB Design By Example.

A protocol analyzer is very important for the success of a USB project. It enables engineers to actually see what the data on the USB bus looks like. Connected between a computer and a peripheral, an analyzer records all data, electrical states and control information transmitted on USB. It affects neither communication nor peripheral behavior.
