History
Ekove Efrits was formed by a "Saman N ", better known by his pseudonym "Count De Efrit", in winter 2005. Before Ekove Efrits, in 2001, Count de Efrit recorded two songs that were released in March 2004, and January 2005 with a previous project called "Unholy Graves". These albums were self-released by Count De Efrit and were limited to 7 Copies only. In 2008 Ekove Erfits released their first full-length album after several demos and a split album. The first full-length album was entitled '[...] Rebirth' and was released by Possession Productions, a Russian record label. It was followed by another full-length album, “Hypermnesia”, in January 2010. In February 2011, Ekove Efrits signed a deal with Hypnotic Dirge Records to release "Conceptual Horizon' which was released in July 2011.
Name
The word “Ekove” is “Evoke” reversed, while Efrit is a word of Arabic origin used in both Arabic and Persian to refer to a demon, or an unholy spirit. According to Count de Efrit, he has chosen this particular name to reflect his own “dark personality”, as well as his Middle-eastern origin.
