Duane Cutlip
Duane Cutlip (born July 18, 1968) was the Republican Party candidate for North Carolina General Assembly in North Carolina's 39th house district (seat held by Linda Coleman). He lost to incumbent Linda Coleman(North Carolina politician) in the general election on November 4, 2008, 35.76% to 64.24%.
Background
Cutlip served as a District Chairman for the Wake County GOP.

General election
Cutlip challenged the incumbent Linda Coleman (North Carolina politician) on the basis of “crony” politics, and ran on a platform that government was intended to be “of the people, by the people, and for the people”. He knocked on doors and talked with over 7,000 voters before early voting in the election began.
