Downpatrick & District Snooker & Billiard League
County Down is the home of the Downpatrick & District Snooker & Billiard League. Many of the local towns compete in the highly successful leagues. Teams from Downpatrick, Newcastle, Ballynahinch, Crossgar, Drumaness, Ballykinler, Castlewellan, Newtownards and Ballyalton strive to be the best in the local district. The league currently has the Northern Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association Billiard Champion Darren Dornan playing in the league.
Snooker league
The snooker league currently consists of 14 teams. They are; St. Michael's in Downpatrick (two teams), Drumaness (four teams), Crossgar, St. Patrick's in Ballynahinch (three teams), St. Mary's in Newcastle (two teams), Ballykinlar and Eamonn's in Ballyalton. As well as playing for the League Title, the teams also compete in four cup competitions, The Martin Cup, The Brannigan Cup, The Toals's Cup and The Dano Fitzpatrick Memorial Cup.
Billiard League
The Billiard league currently consists of six teams. They are; St. Michael's in Downpatrick, Drumaness (two teams), Crossgar, St. Patrick's in Newtownards and Queens Hall in Newtownards. As well as playing for the league title, the six teams compete in four cup competitions, The Mahon Cup, The McAllister Cup, The Breen Cup and the Gerry Rodgers Memorial Cup.
The Snooker and Billiards Individuals
Each player in their respective league has the opportunity to participate in the draw for the Individual Competition. Each match is on a knock out basis with each winner progressing to the next round.
