Domino notation
The Domino notation is a Structured hardware design feature of the hardware description language ABL, the graphic companion language of the textual hardware description language KARL, authored by Reiner Hartenstein. By expressing layout topology via structured wiring functions, slice expressions and layer expressions the Domino notation supports the simultaneous design of digital hardware structures and their structured layout floorplan. In using ABL the Domino notation allows interactive interconnect synthesis between module blocks via wiring by abutment by block placement.
