DMI College of Engineering
DMI College of Engineering is a Catholic Institution of Higher Education providing courses in Science, Technology and Management. This was established by J. E. Arulraj in the year 2001 at Palanchur, AbOUT 5 km from the Poonamallee town on the NH-4 Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway. It is owned by Rev. Sr. I. Arockia mary and Family.
History
On 17 August 2001 DMI College of Engineering was established by Rev. Dr. Aruldas James (Late Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore) in the presence of Rev. Fr. Dr. J.E. Arulraj. Initially two courses were started. They are B.Tech Information Technology and B.E Computer Science and Engineering. B.Tech Information Technology was affiliated to University of Madras and B.E Computer Science and Engineering was affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
In 2002, B.Tech IT affiliation was transferred to the Anna University. B.E Electrical and Electronics Engineering course was also initiated in 2002. In 2006, M.B.A Degree was started with a total intake of 120. In 2008, M.E Computer Science and Engineering was started with a total intake of 18. In 2009, B.E Civil Engineering, B.E Mechanical Engineering, M.E Communication Systems and M.E Power Electronics and Drives was started. In 2012, M.E Applied Electronics was started. In 2013, Fr. Arulraj Centre for Research and Development was started with two domain areas:
- Material Research (Department of Physics)
- Image Processing and Networks (Department of Computer Science and Engineering)
