DeRosan
DeRosan is a non-profit environmental and humanitarian organization with offices in United States (Florida) and Greece. DeRosan's mission is to "ensure equality and protection among all the earthlings" and it exposes worldwide issues, such as climate change, global warming, sport for development, wildlife threats, biodiversity, gender equality, children protection and civil rights. It uses research to achieve its goals and it uses sport as a platform for healthy, social and environmental interventions. The non-profit organization was founded by Stavros Triandafylides, (aka Stavros Angelos Triantafyllidis), a Greek entrepreneur and environmentalist. As a non-profit organization, DeRosan does not accept funding from governments, corporations, or political parties, and relying on individual supporters, foundation and research grants. DeRosan aims to enhance accountability and of social, economic, environmental, technological and political issues. Its core foundation relies on sustainable development. DeRosan uses as a trademark quote the following statement: "Guarding Earth through Sport". The slogan was created by the non-profit organization to inspire people towards a more sustainable and healthier future; where involvement with physical activity and sport will bring people together and generate positive outcomes for the society, the local communities and the natural environment . DeRosan non-profit organization invests in the power of sport, as a podium for social and environmental change, to introduce to people simple ways to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. The sustainable lifestyle found its roots on health and well-being scholarship, as individuals who care for their health and body by engaging in physical and sport activities, care for other people (altruism) and the natural environment.
