Della Rose (group)
Della Rose is an American country girl group. The girls formed in 2008 and consists of American Idol Season 7 finalist Alaina Whitaker, Andrea Young and Erin James. The groups single is expected to hit country radio sometime in 2009, and a album to follow shortly after. The Girls Will Be opening acts on Keith Anderson's 2009 Summer Tour
History
The Formation
Tony Holden (Holden Productions) was searching for the three perfect girls to form a country trio. He had seen Alaina Whitaker (lead singer) on American Idol and Andrea Young (violinist/high harmony) fiddler on "Can You Duet". The girls stated in a interview on Oklahoma news, they later got Erin James (multi-instrumentalist/low harmony) to join the group...which was originally called, Chasing Dixie. The group has opened up for Brooks and Dunn, Gary Allan, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Jack Ingram, and Keith Anderson After 8 months together, the girls took charge; changing their name to "Della Rose," hiring a Nashville back-up band, and writing all their own material with hit songwriters in Nashville. Some of those writers include: Stephanie Bentley, Cliff Downs, Keith Anderson, Jen Adan, and Cowboy Troy.
Video
Holden Productions filmed a reality television show pilot AbOUT the makings of the band in 2008. Clips of their live performances were put together in a video for the "I'm Gone Song." ]].
2009: Headline Country appearance, opening for Keith Anderson
Della Rose (then Chasing Dixie) filmed a episode of the hit TV series "Headline Country" with host Storme Warren. The episode aired July 30, 2009 on GAC. It was also announced that the girls will be opening acts for Keith Anderson on his 2009 Summer Tour. The Della Rose girls are working on their debut album in Nashville. Their live performances include: "I'm Gone Song", "Set It On Fire", "Long Way to Fall", "Give Me Something To Hate You For", which were among those performed on the Keith Anderson tour. They performed "I Know What You Did" on a press tour in Oklahoma October 2008. A single has not yet been released.
Albums
The girls are currently in the recording process, a single was rumored to be released Summer 2009, while on tour with Keith Anderson and a album to follow later this year, however the album is not done being recorded so the album will not be released until 2010 as well as the debut single.
