Dedy Wahyudi
Dedy Wahyudi (born 7 Desember 1975) is a politician academic, and media figure who currently serves as Mayor of Bengkulu for the 2025-2030 period. Previously, he served as Deputy Mayor of Bengkulu for the 2018-2023 period.
Early life and education
Wahyudi was born in Mukomuko on December 7, 1975. He attended elementary and high school in Bengkulu. In 1999 he completed his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Bengkulu. He also earned his Master of Management degree from the same institution. Wahyudi also earned his doctorate degree in management science from the same university in the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Career
Upon entering politics, Wahyudi was an educator and a journalist. He was a lecturer from the University of Bengkulu and the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu.
From 2018 to 2023, Wahyudi was the deputy mayor of Bengkulu. In 2024, Wahyudi won the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) and became the mayor of Bekulu for 2025 to 2030 term. On February 20, 2025, his official inauguration took place in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia.
