Dedication (Gangsta Grillz)
Dedication is the first in the Dedication trilogy of Lil Wayne mixtapes by DJ Drama. It is also the first official mixtape in DJ Drama's "Gangsta Grillz" series. Released in late 2005, it is one of the few mixtapes in the rap genre to be both financially successful and critically acclaimed. Dedication also helped Lil Wayne gain respect as a lyricist, with his avid use of offbeat metaphors and references. The sequel to Dedication is the highly successful Dedication 2.
