DC Alviar

Domar "DC" Cabanatan Alviar is a Filipino academic and political commentator known for his analyses on socioeconomic issues and education policies.

Early life and education

Alviar graduated with a Doctor of Communication (DComm) degree from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) in Los Baños, Laguna, defending his dissertation before a three-member panel chaired by Dr. Benjamina Paula G. Flor. He also earned a Master of Development Communication (MDC) degree from the same institution.

Alviar took up a bachelor's degree in economics at Adamson University in Manila. He was the editor-in-chief of both The Adamson News and his high school publication Ang Ugat in San Pedro, Laguna.

Career

Alviar currently serves as an associate professor at the National University (NU) College of Education, Arts, and Sciences in Sampaloc, Manila. He is a steering committee member of the Philippine International Studies Organization (PHISO).

In his "Inside Academe" column being published by Tutubi.ph , Alviar regularly writes about the K-12 program, socioeconomic issues, and concerns on higher education.
