Dave Roush

Dave Roush, born on November 15, 1981, is a news reporter originally from DuBois, Pennsylvania. He currently works for News 12 The Bronx in New York City. He moved to News 12 after spending three years as the DuBois Region Bureau Chief for NBC affiliate WJAC-TV, Channel 6 News based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. While at Channel 6 News, he broadcasted live from Gobbler's Knob, each Groundhog Day.

Roush's interest in broadcasting began in the fourth grade, after taking A Tour of the Sunny 99 WDSN radio station in his hometown. The program has evolved to become a live morning news broadcast.

In high school, Roush began working at the same radio station he toured in the fourth grade, as an on-air personality and news reporter. A year later, he began writing for the DuBois Courier-Express and Tri-County Sunday newspapers as a student correspondent. Roush studied Journalism and Communication Arts and Sciences at the Penn State University from 2000 to 2004. In addition to earning admission to the Schreyer Honors College, he was President of the local chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha honor society in Journalism. He earned a William Randolph Hearst Award for Excellence in student Journalism.

Roush worked as an intern with NY1 in New York City from January to June 2004 before starting with WJAC-TV a month later.

In his spare time, Roush is a performing stage hypnotist and close-up card magician. He is an ACTIVE member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia national music fraternity. He also serves as a contributing author to The Fraternity's national alumni publication, "The Sinfonian."

Roush now lives in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx in New York City.
