David Johnson (Anchorman)

David Johnson is an American news anchorman for WPXI-TV. Johnson is co-anchor of Channel 11 News at 5:00 and 6:00 with Peggy Finnegan, And Co-anchor for Channel 11 News "11 at 11" with Darieth Chisolm. He also anchors The Ten O'Clock News on Fox 53, and hosts Talkback, a local viewer call-in show. David Johnson and Peggy Finnegan are the longest running anchor team in Pittsburgh.

History

David Johnson was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. While earning a Bachelor of Science in broadcasting from the University of Florida, Johnson started his career in television. His expansive career took him to Jacksonville, Chattanooga, Orlando, and Atlanta before going to Channel 11. Johnson began working for WPXI in January of 1985 as the 12:00 news anchor and reporter for the evening news. David is married to WQED-TV's Nancy Polinsky, and the couple has two sons.
