Darcy J. Watt
Darcy J. Watt is a Canadian-born visual artist and illustrator. His original works usually employ a signature style of bioorganic cords or “conduits” to illustrate intimate and often uncomfortable subject matter.
Watt has produced promotional and/or album artwork for rock musicians, including Zim Zum (Marilyn Manson, The Pop Culture Suicides), Patrick Kennison (The Union Underground, 3-Faced) and Dj Ashba (Beautiful Creatures, Sixx: A.M.). In early 2002, Watt reached an out-of-court settlement with Epic Records for unwarranted use of his work in the album liner of the 2001 release, Life, by hard rock outfit, Dope.
Darcy J. Watt designed a signature deck for Foundation Skateboards' pro skater, Gareth Stehr. The deck was available in the Tum Yeto Fall 2006 catalogue and was based on his original painting, The Absinthe Drinker.
Currently, Watt is developing a proposed, animated horror project with Susie Dietter (The Simpsons, Futurama) as director. He continues to exhibit original works at various galleries in the Los Angeles area.
